Theta Lambda emphasizes both our bond as a sisterhood and our connection to other chapters and music organizations. As a sisterhood, we meet for chapter each week. This time is not only meant for business; we also have a devotional, continuing education, and the awarding of roses and a turtle. All of these activities draw us closer together as a sisterhood. We regularly host sisterhood events for our members. Recent activities include Samford Sundays, meet-ups at local coffee shops, a day at our local National Park, Throwback Thursday, and a formal dress/bow-tie swap. Additionally, we have our own, unique sisterhood ritual that we participate in each semester, and we performed the new Founders' Day Ceremony for the first time this past March. 

Auburn University is fortunate enough to have chapters of all four major music organizations: Kappa Kappa Psi, Phi Mu Alpha, Sigma Alpha Iota, and Tau Beta Sigma, and we regularly hold social events with the other organizations. This year, we branched out to host more events with the other organizations in order to promote greater bonds across our chapters. In the fall semester, we had a game night with Sigma Alpha Iota, and we spent a fun night playing Banana Grams, Spoons, and other fun large group games. With Kappa Kappa Psi, we hosted a joint rush and two joint fundraisers, and we also had a laser tag social. With Phi Mu Alpha, we had a fancy dinner night where we all dressed up in our fancy clothes and met at a local restaurant for dinner and socializing. We also had a Christmas Party with Phi Mu Alpha where we munched on Christmas cookies, watched funny Christmas movies, and played a heated game of Dirty Santa. In the spring semester, we had a “Alice in Wonderland” themed tea party with Sigma Alpha Iota. With Phi Mu Alpha, we had our annual Valentine’s Day social. With Kappa Kappa Psi, we went to the Auburn vs. Georgia basketball game and attempted to cheer our team to victory. In April, we had our annual Formal with all four music organizations. This year’s “Night at the Oscars” themed Formal was a huge success and was held at the Moore’s Mill Country Club. The socials we held with the other organizations allowed all of our members to have fun and grow our bonds with each other!

Additionally, in the fall semester our chapter and Auburn’s chapter of Kappa Kappa Psi traditionally work together to host a Halloween Social that is open to all members of the band. This year our organizations held the social at the marching band field. Before the social officially began, we had a “Trunk or Treat” in the parking lot next to our band field. We collected canned goods as “admission” into the social in order to benefit our campus-wide Beat Bama Food Drive. At the social, we had hot dogs courtesy of Kappa Kappa Psi, and our sisters provided cookies, other sweets, and drinks for everyone. We had our traditional costume contest, and it was a hit amongst everyone that attended. This social is always a great way for people to socialize outside of their sections, and it helps promote friendships throughout our 380-person marching band.
